The Handicrafts Association of Bhutan (HAB) is pleased to welcome four new professionals to its team: a Finance and Program Manager, a Textile Designer and Membership Services Officer, a Master Tailor, and a Master Weaver. These strategic additions are set to enhance HAB’s capacity to serve its members and implement impactful programs.
The new recruits completed an in-depth orientation covering HAB’s organizational structure, programs and services, governance, policies, and professional development goals. They also gained insights into regulatory compliance and the organization’s working culture.
“Attitude is more important than aptitude,” emphasized Norbu Wangdi, Chairman of HAB’s Board of Directors. “With positivity and a willingness to learn, you can achieve more than what you already possess.”

Despite its modest size, HAB continues to make a significant impact on its stakeholders and the development of Bhutan’s handicraft industry. The new team members expressed enthusiasm about their roles, inspired by the professionalism and commitment displayed by the organization during their orientation.
With these new additions, HAB aims to strengthen its membership services and enhance its ability to implement more projects. As a civil society organization (CSO), HAB remains committed to upholding the Bhutan CSO Accountability Standards (BCAS) 2023, which emphasize transparency, responsive leadership, civic engagement, and responsible resource management.
Chorten Dorji, Executive Director of HAB, expressed confidence that the new recruits will play a pivotal role in delivering on HAB’s commitments to its members while expanding initiatives that support CSOs across Bhutan.
